My Summer Holiday Essentials

So far this year I have been on two holidays, one to Tenerife and one to Ibiza. With one holiday of the summer left, I think it is safe to say that I know my summer holiday essentials down to a T. These essentials are typically for a beach holiday, but most of them would work equally as great for city breaks also!

When looking for perfect holiday items, I look for a few qualities in my products. I want them to be compact- so not too bulky for travel. I also look for my trustworthy products, those that I know work well. If I was trying out new products, I probably wouldn't take them on holiday as packing is limited, so it's best to pack what you know and love!

Without further ado, here are some of the products that make the cut...

Dove Go Fresh Pear and Aloe- Antiperspirant Aerosol and Roll On

I have recently discovered this Dove Pear and Aloe scented deodorant and it is the most perfect fresh summer scent. Having tried this for about a month now I know that it works really well and hence I will be taking it on my next holiday with me. I like to buy the roll on and the aerosol for double the protection especially during the hotter months.

    Sanctuary- Cooling Shower Drench

Sanctuary products are absolute bliss, and I am a massive fan of them. However, I hadn't realised they did a cooling range. I am so prone to sunburn when I go on holiday, it always happens. I can confirm after using this when I was in Ibiza that it was so nice to use on the skin along with the cooling body sorbet, which I also have. When you get out the shower and apply the body sorbet, the products leave the most icy cool feeling on your skin, just like an after-sun does. And the smell is heavenly!

Dove Derma Spa Summer Revived- Medium to Dark Skin Body Lotion

I have been using the Dove Summer Glow for years and they've recently re-branded it calling it the summer revived. Personally I don't think the product has really changed. I love this product before I go on holiday and during holiday to give a nice tan to the skin. It is not as harsh as fake tanning and is easy to apply without streaking, if rubbed in evenly. I will definitely be using this before I go away.

This has easily got to be one of my favourite products on the list. This can be used all year round but on holiday when you have a glow, it is perfect. If you are rushing before you go out, you can literally give a couple of sprays on your arms and legs and it makes your skin look healthy and glowing from within. Again a product I have loved for years and still continue to use.

If you can't tell I am all about that summer golden glow. I got this miniature version of the shimmering Nuxe oil in one of my Love Me Beauty subscriptions. This is lovely on the collar bones and decolletage of a summers evening. However, I don't think I'd put it in my hair or on my face, like it says you can.

Protection from the sun is so important. Sun damage can cause burning, premature ageing and even worse- cancer in some cases. This little sun cream is so good for sun exposure and I know that it is protecting my skin. Soltan is one of the few brands on the market that has 5 UVA stars, so you know it is protecting the skin from any hidden damage. I prefer using a specified face suncream as I tend to use the Soltan clear spray on my body which can be very oily if used on the face.

If you cannot tell I have been really loving my Sleek solstice palette. Especially the champagne coloured shade in the bottom right corner. You've just got to have a good highlighter! I need a new highlighter, if anyone has any suggestions please let me know!

I've tried many a primer, and even out of all the Rimmel primers I have tried and tested, this one is by far the best! It has a really tacky texture so you know that your foundation is just going to stick right to it and not budge. I would truly recommend it, and it works really well with my double wear foundation- resulting in a long lasting base for my makeup. Something like this is truly needed in summer evenings, especially when abroad as it really doesn't cool down much some evenings. You don't want your makeup to slide off your face!

Bronzer- another summer essential. Laguna is perfect for warming up the complexion and has a very subtle shimmery glow to it as well. As you can tell I really enjoy this product and don't want it to run out.

When travelling and your packing is limited, you have to pick the products you really love. I absolutely adore my Modern Renaissance palette, and if you are a long term reader of my blog you will have heard me talk about this a couple of times at least. The warm shades are so summer appropriate. You need this palette in your collection 100%!

Fleur De Force is my all time favourite Youtuber, and these are my favourite lashes! Along with the 'petite fleurs' that she has brought out, these are the perfect way to achieve thicker and fuller lashes without looking overly false. These make your lashes so fluttery. They are also so easy to apply. I wore these in the day time in Ibiza, where I didn't want to look too over the top but wanted to look nice!

Compact products make the cut for travelling. I love my tangle teezer, mostly because it is so kind to my hair and minimises breakage. I prefer the compact one as it comes with  the cover keeping it cleaner in your bag. I just feel like it is so much more hygienic than taking a big brush.

I have over 100 nail polishes to my name. But it has only been recently that I have finally found a trusty formula. If you don't have the time or the money to get your nails done before you go away, these have got to be the next best thing! These last well over a week without chipping on me. And at only £5 a bottle they have some lovely summer shades.

This is my favourite floral fragrance at the moment. I love a floral fragrance for the evening time when on a summer holiday. This is the Rosie for Autograph Eau De Parfum.

This is a product I have yet to try! But I am excited to use it! I bought it because it is so small and compact, and it is more hygienic to travel with due to the case it comes with! I can't wait to try it out as I have never tried any Gilette razors.

I hope you enjoyed discovering the products that are my summer holiday essentials. Is there anything I am missing out on? Let me know!

Holly xx
