12 Days of Blogmas- #12- Merry Christmas Everyone!

Hello all,

Merry Christmas, or should I say Merry Boxing Day (lol). As predicted I slacked a bit with blogmas this year, especially the last day which was meant to be finished over the weekend!

Nevertheless, I successfully managed to do the twelve days of blogmas- in some form! Head over to my other posts if you haven't read them yet!

I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas Day yesterday, I definitely did! I will probably be posting a 'what I got for Christmas' post, as I do each year as they seem to be really popular to read!

My blog post will be up over the next few days, followed by posts about my birthday which is on the 3rd January- I am really excited!

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas-

Holly xx

12 Days of Blogmas- #11- December Beauty Favs

Throughout the month of December, I have really been loving a lot of beauty products. I thought I would share my top five with you in this post. As I haven't purchased a lot of makeup or beauty products over the last few months, it's hard to find things that I haven't mentioned before.

However, here are a few things that I've really been loving...

Love Fragrance Mist- Victoria Secret- £22

I have been loving this body mist by Victoria Secret as an every day alternative to using expensive perfume. I would definitely purchase another one of these in the future!

12 Days of Blogmas- #10- My Blogmas Experience (Round 2)

As blogmas is drawing to a close, I thought I would take time to reflect on my experience doing twelve days of consecutive posting this year.

At the end of November, I had to make a decision as to whether I was going to participate in blogmas. Reflecting on last year's experience, I remembered really enjoying blogmas and found it really rewarding. Despite this, I do remember the amount of time it took to produce the content, and as someone who doesn't pre-write posts... I found it quite pressurising at times.

However, I did want to do blogmas to some degree this year, so I took it upon myself to do the twelve days of blogmas instead. This would mean I started on the 12th and posted something every single day on here.

In short, even though I only did twelve days, I have found it a lot more difficult than expected. Being in my final year of university has been so demanding. On top of this, I have been working some hours in my part time job also. It's definitely a good thing I didn't commit to the whole 24 days of blogmas.

12 Days of Blogmas- #9- Fav Festive Films

Christmas has rolled around so quickly this year, and with a massive amount of university work and going to work at my part time job, I haven't had a chance to watch many festive films.

However, I'd love to share my favourite films for the holiday season with you all. Who knows, maybe these are your favourites too!

If any of my loyal blog readers remember, I actually did one of these blog posts for my blogmas last year... I wonder if my choices this year will be different!

12 Days of Blogmas- #8- My NYE Picks...

Christmas is six days away, but that means New Years Eve is creeping up behind it.

Now is a great time to start looking for the perfect New Years Eve dress, as soon Christmas will get in the way and before you know it, it's the 30th December and you're panicking.

I've found a few gorgeous dresses that I have my eye on, and I thought I would share them in this post to offer you some inspiration if you too are looking for a dress.

Here are some of my favourites...

This Dani Dyer sequin tassel dress from InTheStyle has got to be my favourite, it's unique and I love that it is a t-shirt dress style.

It is £39.99 and you can buy it here.

12 Days of Blogmas- #7- My Hopes for 2019

As 2018 draws to a close, it is crazy to believe another year is nearly over. I like to take time at the end of the year to reflect on what I have done and achieved, and what I would like to improve for the year ahead. I don't believe in New Year's resolutions as such, but thinking about the future doesn't do any harm.

I feel as though my life is going to change in 2019, and this is a change that I am quite excited about! I'll be finishing my degree and graduating (hopefully). On top of this I'll be planning my next steps career wise. Whilst this is quite a daunting prospect, I am excited to see where my career takes me, and it will be nice to have a change from studying, which I seem to have been doing for as long as I can remember.

12 Days of Blogmas- #6- Partying with Adexe

At the end of November, I was lucky enough to attend the Adexe New Now Next party with my gorgeous friend Cally

I was so excited for this event, as I knew it would be a great chance to meet up with my blogger bestie Cally again, but I didn't anticipate how amazing the event would turn out to be.

We arrived around 8pm at the Moxy London Stratford Hotel which was the venue for the event. It turns out they had hired the whole lobby and bar area out on the ground floor, which was massive- and there was already loads of guests inside!

Firstly we joined a queue to give in our coats, where we were handed endless glasses of prosecco! We watched and gazed at the selfie bed as we queued, excited to give it a try as it looked perfect for photo opportunities!

12 Days of Blogmas- #5- Last Minute Gift Guide for Him

If you read my third blogmas post this year, you'll see that I did a last minute gift guide for her. I feel like that one was easy to find things for, but let's face it... men are impossible to buy for. There are only so many things a man can want or need but I will try my best to find a selection for this gift guide!

Before I start, I'm going to repeat what I put in yesterdays post:

I must stress that if you are last minute shopping, you should take caution when ordering gifts online. Delivery times are strained and often delayed during the busy month of December, and to avoid disappointment I would really shop in-store where possible. However, with working, family and every day life, going to a shopping centre isn't always possible and I can appreciate that is the case for a lot of people.

Therefore, in this gift guide I have not only attached the link to each product, but will research the Christmas delivery cut-off dates for each website included in this blog post, and if I can find them, will list them all at the bottom of the page. This way you can be sure that your gift will come in time for Christmas.

£10 and under:

You can't go wrong with a classic present of beer pong, for £5, this would make a great stocking filler or gift for someone who you have a smaller budget for.

Alternatively, here is one from Debenhams for £6.

If you know a Nandos lover, you could get them this set for £8.50, I think its so nice and would be great for a young person like a brother or if they've moved into a new place. Or even if they live away at university.

12 Days of Blogmas- #4- Home for Christmas

I'm finally home for Christmas!

I drove back from my uni house today, and I'll be home for a whole month (more or less). As I am in my third and final year at university, I have soooooo much university work to do. This is part of the reason why I am only doing the twelve days of blogmas this year!

12 Days of Blogmas #3- Last minute gift guide for HER

It's December 14th, there's eleven days till Christmas, and odds are that if you're reading this post you are panicking and looking for ideas, or you're just nosy. Hello either way!

I've put together a list of women's gift ideas, which vary from anything under £10, right up to £100, so hopefully there is something in this gift guide that will help you out or inspire you if you're struggling with gifts.

Before I start, I must stress that if you are last minute shopping, you should take caution when ordering gifts online.

I hope this gift guide helps some people out.

£10 and under:

I found this adorable eyelash mug on ASOS, which is currently on sale for £6. You cannot go wrong with a mug for Christmas, and you could even put chocolates inside it or wrapped up with it to make an extra special gift.

ASOS have lots of other lovely mugs, just go on their website and search for them to view the range, most are under £10 too!

Click here to buy the mug.

I found this Sleek lip collection on Boots currently on offer for £4.50! All these colours are so wearable, and Sleek products are amazing quality. If you know a beauty lover I'm sure she'd enjoy this.

Click here to buy the set.

I love this bath time set by Bayliss and Harding being sold at Boots at the moment. They have a prosecco themed gift range this year for their bath products. Most women of any age love a bath. This set costs £8.50.

12 Days of Blogmas- #2 - A Festive Day in Birmingham

Every year, me and Charlie have a tradition to go to Winter Wonderland, however due to our not so great experience last year, we decided to try something different this year. We had train tickets to Birmingham booked for a while and were so excited to go. I'd heard so many good things about it and was really looking forward to a festive day out. It was the 1st December after all!

Firstly, we went to The Bullring, such a huge shopping centre. I've been here once before on a sixth form trip, but it was so nice to go back and so much bigger than I remembered. One of my favourite shops was Selfridges, as the only other one located close to me is London.

Charlie did loads of Christmas shopping, and although it was busy we spent hours here! We both said we would visit Birmingham again purely for the quality of shops alone. There was literally every shop you could think of in The Bullring. And if it wasn't there, then you could find even more shops located close by in Grand Central.

After shopping for hours- we headed to the Birmingham Christmas Market.

Overall, I thought it was nice there, but I can't say I enjoyed the experience to its full potential purely because of the crowds- it was quite literally heaving! We managed to get a drink after queueing for a good while, but sadly in general it was just too busy. I guess we have learnt our lesson not to go to Christmas markets on a Saturday in December as everywhere is inevitably packed. Nevertheless, I am glad we went and don't regret it. After this, we headed to the Veuve Clicquot Rooftop Champagne Bar- I was so excited about this venue and it definitely did not disappoint.

I'd completely recommend this bar if you're in or visiting Birmingham! It really was lovely! I loved how picturesque it was, and so nice and wintery. It offered a great view over Birmingham also. We then had dinner at a lovely Italian located in 'The Mailbox' which is called Pinocchio.

Overall, I really enjoyed the festive day in Birmingham with Charlie and had so much fun. It is a lovely city and if I visited again I'd love to stay overnight so I could explore more of the city! I hope you enjoyed my second Blogmas post, and I'll be back tomorrow. Holly xx P.S... Have you entered my Christmas giveaway yet? If not... click here.

Discovering JewelleryBox

After a month long hiatus from my blog, I am back and better than ever to tell you about a beautiful brand I have come across recently- JewelleryBox... an online jewellery retailer that boasts over 5,500 Sterling Silver and 9ct Gold items.

Ibiza 2018!

Hello everyone!

Many apologies for my long absence from my blog... I can't believe the last time I published a post was at the end of April. Finishing university for the summer would lead many to believe that I would have more time on my hands... I've found it to be quite the opposite. What with working more or less 5 days a week and going on a couple of holidays, I've been busier than I could've imagined.

By no means am I complaining, because I got to visit Ibiza again, one of my favourite summer holiday destinations!

This year I finally went to the Craig David pool party at the Ibiza Rocks Hotel, which was something I didn't get to do last year... and it definitely didn't disappoint! I did so many other things like go to Ocean Beach and Ushuaia, and also pay a visit to Ibiza old town.

Scroll down further for loads of photos from my holiday...

If you have been following me on any of my social medias such as Instagram (@hollszz) and Twitter (@hollszz) then you'll know that I uploaded my first ever Youtube video! I bought a GoPro earlier in the year and was so excited to try it out for the first time. Obviously, having never vlogged before, im no professional... but I was quite proud of the finished result! Please please give it a watch...!!!

It would mean the world to me if you could click the subscribe button on my Youtube Channel!

Belgravia in Bloom

I frequently spend days in Central London, it is one of my favourite pastimes and its such a treasure trove of some of the most fun and pretty places!

Last Friday (25th May), upon chance, I happened to stumble across one of the most beautiful streets in London at this time of year- Elizabeth Street in Belgravia. I'm so happy I came across it at the time I did.

I was originally looking for Les Senteurs, a perfumery with a floral exterior that has taken Instagram by storm. Little did I realise that it was situated on the exact same stretch of road as Peggy Porschen is... amongst many other beautiful floral displays on shops and some florists.

The reason for this in none other than the week of Belgravia in Bloom, where shops join in celebrating alongside the Chelsea Flower Show. So if you can't/won't purchase tickets to the event, you can see the Frida Kahlo's gorgeous exhibition, located in Belgravia. It's so nice to see that other parts of London are joining in with the Chelsea Flower Show... what's not to love about seeing London decorated in flowers...

These are some of the installations I loved the most...

Peggy Porschen

Hello everyone!

It feels like it has been a lifetime since I last published a blog post. When I wrote my last post, I was determined to get back to doing them more often. However, with exams literally taking over my life right now... I've slacked with blogging (sad times)!

A post I've been wanting to write for a while now was inspired by an Estee Lauder campaign that I saw a couple of months back called 'Double Wear or Nothing'. There was an advert, and loads of blogger sponsorships surrounding it. Now, whilst this isn't part of the campaign, it really got me questioning why I have never written a blog post about a product I CANNOT live without- Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation.

This foundation came into my life shortly after I started working at Boots 4 and a half years ago! Everyone at my work obsessed over double wear, and I had to see what the rage was all about... safe to say I have never gone back!

Go For Green!

I have phases where I absolutely adore wearing certain colours. I obsess over these colours, and I want every item of clothing I own in that colour. Over winter it was red, which I still love wearing... but now I've completely fallen in love with green!

Recently I purchased a beautiful long sleeved green dress from New Look, and maybe this is where my obsession began. But for some reason when I am looking at clothes online, I always seem to select the filter that shows green only- safe to say I'm obsessed. Here is the dress that made me fall in love with wearing green! Click here to see it on their website.

The Travel Diaries: My 21st Present to Rome...

I still can't get my head around the fact that I was lucky enough to visit Rome in January.

Rome has been a high contender on my list of 'places to visit' for a long time now, and I couldn't believe it when I discovered that my boyfriend Charlie was treating me to a trip there for my 21st Birthday.

This post is going to be all about what we got up to and my favourite parts of Rome. I really fell in love with the city and it is definitely somewhere I would go back to! I already want to explore more parts of Italy too! Also, sorry that this blog post has taken so long, but I just HAD to publish it, despite the fact I went to Rome two months ago, as it was such an amazing trip!

Day 1:

We flew from Stansted airport on 18th January 2018, and we had a nice flight time which was in the middle of the day! It wasn't a long flight but with travelling to the apartment we were staying in, we didn't end up arriving in the city until the evening time. We stayed in a stunning bed and breakfast, which only had two rooms! It was called SottosopraSannio, and I couldn't recommend it enough for anyone looking for an lovely place to stay which is situated closely to everything in the city.

Lush Event

Hello everyone!

I am so excited to share my experiences on an amazing blogger event I had the privilege of attending on the evening of 23rd February at the Lush store in Watford!

A Morning at Saint Aymes

If you haven't realised, I have recently developed a love for going to gorgeous cafe's in London, and seeing Saint Aymes pop up on Instagram, it quickly went to the top of my list. Me and Izzie visited last Wednesday, and they were only in their third week of opening!

As I knew they were so newly open, I really wanted to visit the cafe before everyone and their mother went there! For example, when I went to Peggy Porschen, it was so lovely, but so overcrowded as it has become exceedingly popular amongst bloggers and the general public.

Hey Peachy!

If you haven't already heard of Hey Peachy sleepwear, you are soooo late to the pyjama party!

Being a university student, and spending a lot of time in bed, I definitely spend a lot of time in my pyjamas. Before Christmas, admittedly I didn't really own a lot of my own pyjamas, I just wore my boyfriend's t-shirts and some shorts that I've collected from Primark over the years. Because of this I was so happy to receive pyjamas from my mum and dad for Christmas.

When I opened them I was so happy with them! I really dislike wearing long pyjamas to bed (I like them for lounging in) and I only ever wear short pyjamas. This is the pair that my mum had chosen out for me.

How to ACE your Valentine's present for her...

Valentine's... love it or hate it- there are a lot of couples who celebrate it! It can be a struggle to buy anyone a present, but I think that women are particularly hard to buy for.

One thing that couples should always remember is not to pile on the pressure when it comes to Valentine's. It is nice to celebrate your love together every day of the year rather than one day. It is also important not to go overboard on a present, especially if you are going to put yourself short of money. Your partner should love you for who you are and not your gifts!

Nevertheless, there are always going to be people who are happy to buy presents for their partner on Valentines, and that is completely fine. So if you want a little help with what to buy the woman in your life for Valentine's, look no further!

Whilst I will provide a variety of gift ideas ranging in prices, a top tip to always remember is that personalised gifts cost little to no money, but the meaning behind them is huge. A photo printed and framed would make a lovely gift, and shows that you have gone out of your way to put together a lovely present with a lot of meaning behind it.

Here are some of my picks...

Sass and Belle- ASOS- Valentine's Plaque- £3

This adorable heart plaque from Sass and Belle is proof that nice Valentines presents don't have to be expensive. For only £3 this is such a cute way to remind her you love her!

My 21st Birthday!

I'm back with an ever so slightly belated birthday. My 21st was on the 3rd January and I feel so blessed, I had the most wonderful day and time surrounding it. In this post I'm going to let you know what I got up to, but also show you some of the amazing gifts I received.

I am returning to my blog after the end of blogmas, if you haven't read all 24 posts, be sure to catch up on them! This post will make for my second 'what I got for Christmas' blog post, as I posted one last year also. As ever, I felt a little apprehensive about posting this, but it was something I really wanted to do. I am by no means bragging about what I got, and am sharing this post with my readers as I know that it is something people like to read. I hope you enjoy my post, even if it is a little belated. If you haven't read my "what I got for Christmas 2016" then click here.

One of my favourite presents I received has to be my Mac Book. I asked for this as a joint Christmas and 21st Birthday present. The reason I asked to receive it on Christmas Day is so that I had extra time to get it set up before I go back to university. I couldn't be happier with it and love it so much. I know that this will last me a long time and will aid me with my degree. I couldn't be more thankful to my parents for this, it is one of the best things I've ever received!
